What's worth more than 13,000 five-star reviews?
One killer case study.
When I joined LITTA, we had a problem. Despite 13,000+ 4.9 star Trustpilot reviews, our only sales asset was a generic 5-page brochure.
Business buyers don't care about consumer reviews. They want proof your solution works for companies like theirs.
Here's how I created LITTA's first case study using a simple 3-step system that you can steal today.
Why Case Studies Are Sales Gold
"Case studies are the closest thing to a sales cheat code."
They transform skeptical prospects into eager buyers. Case studies show exactly how you solved a problem your prospect is facing right now.
One good case study can replace dozens of sales calls.
My 3-Step Case Study System
Step 1: Build Your Case Study Blueprint (1 Hour)
Don't wing it. Create a simple Google Doc with two essential templates.
Template 1: Interview Questions
Use the B/D/A format (Before/During/After):
Before: What challenges were you facing? How were you trying to solve them?
During: Why did you choose [Company]? What was the implementation like?
After: What results have you seen? How has this changed your business?
Template 2: Case Study Structure
Mirror the questions in your final case study:
Challenge: The pain point keeping your client awake at night
Solution: How and why they chose you
Results: The transformation they experienced
This structure makes writing effortless. Just plug in their answers.
Step 2: Find Your Star Client (30 Minutes)
Not every client makes a great case study. You need two criteria:
Target Market Match: They operate in your ideal customer segment
Significant Investment: They've spent serious money with you (for LITTA, £10,000+ annually)
I identified 15 qualifying clients from our existing customer base.
The Outreach That Works:
Don't pitch the case study. Position it as customer feedback. Here's my exact script:
"Hi [Client], I'm working on improving our services and would love 30 minutes of your insights. Would you be open to a quick call about your experience with LITTA?"
Once they agree, mention the case study opportunity:
"By the way, if you're happy with how the call goes, would you be interested in being featured as a success story?"
Pro tip: Send your interview questions 24 hours before the call. Prepared clients give better answers.
Step 3: Write and Polish Your Story (The Hard Part)
This took me 10 hours over three days. Don't rush it.
The Interview Process:
Use Google Meet for video calls
Fill out your Google Form in real-time
Record everything (with permission)
Game-changer tool: Otter.ai transcribes calls and creates automated summaries. It's like having a personal assistant take perfect notes.
Writing Your First Draft:
Transform your notes into a narrative using your B/D/A template. Focus on:
Specific problems (not generic pain points)
Concrete numbers (percentages, £ amounts, time saved)
Emotional impact (how did this change their daily experience?)
The Approval Process:
Send the draft to your client with this message:
"Here's the case study draft. Please review and suggest any changes. We want this to be 100% accurate and something you're proud to share."
Expect minor tweaks, not major rewrites. If they want significant changes, your interview wasn't thorough enough.
Design Makes the Difference:
A Google Doc won't impress anyone. Work with a designer to create something stunning. Your case study should look as professional as your service.
The Results That Matter
My first case study became one of LITTA's most powerful sales assets. It contributed to acquiring several new clients.
More importantly, it established a repeatable system. We have a framework for building an arsenal of social proof that closes deals before I get on a sales call.
Your Next Step
Case studies aren't just marketing materials—they're competitive advantages.
Start with one client who loves working with you. Follow this 3-step system. In two weeks, you'll have a sales asset that transforms your pipeline.
The best part? Your competition is still using generic brochures.
